Theodorou Island - Lazareta Island

  • PRICE €350
8 km from Chania
If you are looking for a quick getaway from the city, let us take you to the beautiful destination that's just 20 minutes from Chania.

Leaving the bustling city behind we travel west, towards the majestic island of saint Theodorou. As we tour the southern side look up, to gaze upon the massive imposing cave! According to local legend the island is the body of a petrified dragon, with it's mouth still gaping open.
Nowadays this place is dedicated to the protection of the Cretan wild mountain goat, the KRI-KRI. It's also a restful haven for migratory birds.

In the protected bay we will drop anchor and let you enjoy a refreshing dip in the turquoise waters, as well as some delicacies on board. Don't forget to ask for a mask and snorkel to check out the crashed WWII airplane.

Next we will continue our voyage towards Lazaretta, with its beautiful sandy beach and charming white chapel. A leper colony during venetian occupation, this little island has a remarkable history. Swim towards it, and immerse yourself in the life stories of generations past. Feel time slowing down as you write your own history with this dramatic backdrop of raw Cretan landscape. Life is an adventure.
